In the summer of 2017, Newcastle announced a sponsorship agreement with Asian betting firm Fun88. The three-year contract was billed as the biggest in the club's history, but no official figure was given. The club's previous agreement with Wonga was worth £8 million per year. The Fun88 deal places the Magpies among the top ten largest sponsorship deals in English football.

SportPesa

Everton chose to strike a five-year partnership with Kenyan sports betting provider SportPesa in 2017. That agreement was reportedly worth £9.6 million per year. That contract originally ran for the 2017–18 and 19 seasons, but Everton chose to cancel the arrangement with SportPesa at the end of the season rather than wait until 2020.

According to the football club, this decision was made after a review of its commercial strategy in light of future expansion ambitions.

Having said that, the partnership has been maintained at the same price for the past four years, earning Everton a fantastic revenue of £38.4 million during that period. Unfortunately, SportPesa ceased operations in Kenya in 2019 as a result of a tax increase on betting stakes.
