Korea Republic and IR Iran play out goalless draw in U23 Asian Cup opener [VIDEO]

PLDC - Korea Republic and IR Iran played out a 0–0 draw in their opening Group C match of the AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 on Wednesday.

The game saw few clear chances, with Korea Republic having a goal ruled out for offside in the 19th minute. Iran came closest to scoring before halftime, but Reza Ghandipour missed a clear opportunity from close range.

Korea Republic dominated much of the second half but failed to convert their chances, while Iran goalkeeper Mohammad Khalifeh produced a late save to secure a point.

Korea Republic will next face Lebanon, while Iran take on Uzbekistan in their second Group C fixtures.
