Ezatolahi Has Potential For the Big Leagues

Ezatolahi

Iran international Saeid Ezatolahi impressed in the Danish Superliga this season, with the Vejle Boldklub defensive midfielder showing qualities that could see him push for a move to one of Europe’s top leagues.

Chances in Spain and England earlier in his career might have come a bit too soon, but now Ezatolahi is catching the eye with his performances in Denmark’s top-flight, and the future looks bright.

Ezatolahi Stands Out for Vejle

Having joined the Reds from Russian outfit Rostov last year, Ezatolahi has come on leaps and bounds with the Jutland outfit this season. Enjoying a strong end to the season, the 24-year-old was nominated for the AFC International Player of the Week for his efforts in the middle of May. Those efforts helped Vejle avoid relegation this term, and now the Reds can look forward to another season of top-flight football.

While Vejle will be looking to kick on next season, they are still expected to be battling to avoid the drop next season. Punters can look to sites like Bonusfinder Denmark to get offers ahead of the new Danish Superliga season, as Vejle competes with the likes of Viborg, Silkeborg, and Sonderjyske to stay up. If Ezatolahi can pick up where he left off for next season, Vejle will certainly fancy their chances of extending their stay in the Superliga.

Lessons Learned from Spain and England

After catching the eye with his performance at Iranian outfit Malavan, Ezatolahi went on to finish his youth career with the current La Liga champions Atletico Madrid. Only making it as far as Atleti’s C team, Ezatolahi went on to test himself in the Russian top-flight with Rostov. Once again first-team chances were hard to come by, and the Bandar-e Anzali-born player was given opportunities to go out on loan.

As one of those spells away from Russia, Ezatolahi had a stint with English Championship side Reading for the 2018-19 season. Only just out of his teenage years, he would have been hoping to make an impact at the Madejski Stadium, but his time with the Royals was to be short-lived due to an unfortunate season-ending injury. While lessons will have been learned on the loans across Russia, in England and Belgium, Ezatolahi was in need of a new challenge, and found the perfect solution with a switch to Vejle.

What Does the Future Hold?

Another strong season with Vejle will certainly draw interest, as will his performance for the Iranian national side. Ezatolahi played for Iran against the likes of Spain, Portugal, and Morocco at the 2018 World Cup. This resulting in him having over 30 caps for his country to his name already, and the international stage is the perfect showcase to impress further.

With plenty of years to play ahead of him, it’s hard to see Ezatolahi being with Vejle for the long term, as competing in the top divisions in England, Spain, Germany, Italy, or France could be around the corner. Having improved since his loan spells across Europe, one feels Ezatolahi will be more than ready to make the most of his next opportunity.
